Dental insurance benefits for bridges
I am not sure I understand dental insurance. I do not currently have any dental insurance but I know I need to have few teeth pull and I am willing to get a bridge put in. I do not need to have implant since I could not afford them anyway.
So my friend told me to get dental insurance before I start pulling out my teeth. She said they should cover me to get a bridge. The thing is all the plans I seen say nothing about bridges and how much they would cost. Does dental insurance cover for bridges or not?

Although most dental plans do cover for dental bridges, if you are looking at dental HMO the cost for a bridge is normally not listed on the fee schedule because there is to many factors involved.
Such as how many teeth are being replaced. What type of bridge would you be getting. On an HMO plan they would need to know this before quoting out a cost. For that you would need to see the dentist first to get the ADA code and to confirm coverages.

If you are reviewing PPO or Indemnity dental insurance plans then bridges would fall under major dental services. The issue would be what the waiting periods are. So make sure you read the plan policy terms and conditions well.
