Individual Dental Insurance, reviewing the Golden West dental plan
I was reviewing your Golden West dental plan. I do not have dental insurance right now and I live in California. My questions are under the Golden West dental plan can I go outside their dental network or providers?
Also can I have the plan for my son and I and get the couple rate or since my son is 20 but not a full time student to I have to buy two individual plans. Not to clear on that please advise. Thanks.

Golden West dental is an HMO insurance plan with that in mind HMO dental insurance plans are network provider only. Meaning if you dentist is not in the net there would be no coverage afforded to you if you go outside their provider listing.
In fact Golden West does make you choose the dentist from their list of providers in order to sign up for the plan.
Regarding your son since he is not a full time student you will need to have two individual plans. Had your son been a full time student then you could have gone couple until he was 23. I hope this helps you

I used a local Golden West dental office recently and the dentist was helpful. You should probably get the 200 plan as it will give you move coverage and benefits than the 100 and for the price it is worth it.

Golden West 200 is the better of the two plans. Even though the 100 is cheaper a month you will pay more in the long run. Buy the 200 instead.

Yes you are correct the Golden West dental plan 200 is a much better plan for the buck. Thanks for pointing it out. I do not mind the 6 month waiting period for the crown since I will saving a ton of much.
