Dental care needed, Cavity tooth pain

I have a cavity toothache and I need to see a dentist.  I can not get in though for a week and I would like some ideas how to stop the toothache.  Having to wait a week is hard.   Need advise as soon as possible

    Try using some Orajel, since that will help num out your pain. Also make sure you keeping your teeth clean by using a strong mouthwash to kill germs.

    You want to do your best to avoid getting any type of infection or abcess.

    Garlic clove may help you kill off some of the toothache pain. You would bite down on a glove where the tooth that hurting you is and just let it sit for a while.

    Try washing out your mouth with warm salt water. This will help keep your mouth clean and kill germs without causing you too much more addtional pain.

    Eat soft foods so that you are not putting more stress on a weeken tooth.
